Hasbro is proud to support the Special Olympics USA Games, which took place in Orlando, Florida last week, by sponsoring the Youth Leadership Experience, supporting the expansion of Unified Champion Schools, donating toys and games, and volunteering at the Young Athletes Festival!
The Youth Leadership Experience is an immersive training event where youth leaders and mentors serve in a variety of volunteer roles and support their state delegation. Youth leaders, with and without disabilities, volunteer at the games, attend educational and interactive experiences, and shadow other leaders, providing them the tools to become more deeply connected to the Special Olympics movement as committed volunteers, teammates, and friends for life. The Youth Leadership Experience at the USA Games gives participants the tools to return to their communities and strengthen their Unified programming.
As a longtime partner of Special Olympics, Hasbro supports the global expansion of Unified Champion Schools in countries around the world. Through Special Olympics Unified Champion School programming, young people become leaders in their schools and communities through inclusive sport and leadership activities.
Hasbro also donated toys and games to the USA Games athlete lounges and sensory rooms, providing participants a space to decompress, play games and find a sense of calm during their experience.
It takes more than 30,000 volunteer shifts to make the USA Games possible and Team Hasbro was proud to be onsite last week to help fill this need, volunteering at events and engaging youth at the Young Athletes Festival!
