Giving in the U.S.

Giving in the U.S.

In the U.S. locations where Hasbro operates, we provide local community grants which support programs that:

  • Access to Play for underserved and historically marginalized communities
  • Provide Play Relief in times of crisis and uncertainty
  • Empower the next generation of Play Makers

All organizations receiving philanthropic support from Hasbro, including the Hasbro Foundation, are required to agree to our non-discrimination policy, see below.

Global Giving

In the locations where Hasbro has operations outside of the U.S., our global offices annually provide charitable support in the form of grants, sponsorships, product donations and/or volunteer engagement.

Giving Guidelines

Hasbro has always been committed to supporting our communities around the world. Each year, we are approached by thousands of organizations seeking our assistance. Unfortunately, no matter how honorable the cause – we must stay within our funding guidelines. Please know this is not a reflection on the important work that you are doing. We do not accept unsolicited donation requests. Please see our giving guidelines below for more information.

Impact and Measurement

Hasbro has a longstanding commitment to Global Philanthropy & Social Impact. Together with our nonprofit partners we identify the greatest need for support that aligns with Hasbro’s values and social impact strategy. We provide wraparound support including grants, sponsorships, and in-kind donations, while measuring and evaluating the impact of our giving to maximize social outcomes and make the greatest impact possible for our grant recipients. For every philanthropic contribution made throughout our business, we follow a rigorous process to review, vet, and track donations to ensure alignment with Hasbro’s values and purpose. All recipients of support must comply with Hasbro’s Non-discrimination policy. Throughout each grant cycle we request quantitative and qualitative measurement at both the six month and year-end timeframe to track results and outcomes. Through these impact reports, we measure the type and depth of impact as it relates to behavior change and outcomes for our grant recipients, as a result of our funding. 

Similar to our methodology with grants, social outcomes are generated from impact reports for each in-kind donation. Social outcome indicators for financial and in-kind donations include quantitative outputs and outcomes, a leverage assessment for the organization and detailed qualitative reporting.

Eligibility

Hasbro’s Corporate Giving Guidelines require all charitable support to benefit community members directly through a 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations. 

Sponsorships

We do not support events such as 5ks, walks, golf tournaments, etc., unless it’s for a companywide initiative to support one of our Philanthropic Partners. Our sponsorship support funds organizations in our operating areas that deliver primary stability and health for children and families in crisis; skill development; and equitable access to education.

Product Donations

Hasbro’s Corporate Giving Guidelines require product donations to go directly into the hands of vulnerable children through a 501c3 non-profit child-focused organization.
Specifically, our Corporate Giving Guidelines do not permit us to donate product to the following: fundraisers (i.e. raffles, auctions or carnivals), annual conferences/conventions, gift bags/door prizes, individuals, intermediary donations, school incentive/reward programs.

Holiday Giving: Hasbro’s holiday giving program is designed to empower parents with the ability to give their children, who may otherwise go without, a gift during the holidays. We do not make donations to organizations hosting parties during the holidays that wish to provide a giveaway for the children attending. Hasbro currently partners with Toys for Tots and provides toys and games to them directly. Please have your organization and/or the families you work with contact your local Toys for Tots directly to receive support. There is a sign-up period for donations on toysfortots.org.

Nondiscrimination Policy

Hasbro’s charitable giving, including but not limited to, the Hasbro Foundation, product donations, sponsorships, and employee volunteering, follows a Non-Discrimination Policy that is in alignment with the policy of Hasbro, Inc. Projects or programs funded by the corporation or the Foundation, or where employees volunteer using company time, must comply with this policy.

POLICY: The charitable organization (donee) does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, age, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, and marital status and will use the Foundation or Corporation’s grant/product/volunteer time, to support projects and programs consistent with the foregoing.
