With the unprecedented changes to daily life over the last week, our purpose of making the world a better place for children and their families has become more important than ever before.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt around the world. Children and families in low-income communities are experiencing additional hardship due to school and business closures, in fact, 57 million students across the nation depend on schools for learning and development, and 30 million also rely on schools for meals.
To help to address these challenges, Hasbro is proud to support Save the Children, a nonprofit organization providing books, games and educational materials to help children and families with learning at home. Through our donation of thousands of Hasbro toys and games –like Play-Doh, Scrabble and Monopoly, for example—we hope to inspire creativity, social and emotional development and help keep children learning.
Even with many school districts providing meal assistance, food banks are experiencing an increase in demand and hunger is a growing concern. We are supporting Save the Children and No Kid Hungry as they join forces in a collective effort to provide food and educational resources to vulnerable children impacted by this pandemic.
